Woodhurst 2 - Redcliffe Rovers 0
Parmiters Sports Ground, Sunday 15th September 02

The Hurst got back to winning ways with a 2-0 friendly win over league rivals Redcliffe with a new-look side

With a lack of defensive players due to holiday, Jimmy Woodham went with a back three of Taylor, McShea and Bradbury. Mike Kelleher stepped into the middle of midfield alongside Lawley and Woodham for his first 90 minutes leaving Souleyman to roam free just behind lone-striker Damion Spriggs. Ryan Houlton returned to the side for his first run out on the left, with Leevan Rogers operating on the right.

A slow start from Woodhurst was made worse after only 5 minutes when Houlton limped off after a rash Redcliffe challenge to be replaced by goalkeeper Norton's brother, Steve. But Paul McShea settled the nerves when he powered home a first half header from a Spriggs corner.

Some bright and simple football followed and Woodhurst looked strong all over the park, and any danger posed by Redcliffe was gobbled up by the defence or the impressie Norton in goal.

In the second half Leevan Rogers, causing problems with his pace, latched on to a defensive error to round the keeper for number two.

Afterwards the team resumed the shower singing and new signing Damion Spriggs earned his spurs with a fabulous solo redition of Hue and Cry.
