Woodhurst 4 - Gidea Park 2
Independent Sunday League
Parmiters Sports Ground, Sunday 21st September 03

The first league game of the season saw woodhurst take all three points in a convincing win. Paul McShea grabbed the Hurst's first goal of the season in the opening 20 minutes, but the visitors pulled level before half-time.

After the break, the introduction of new-boy Nigel Jordon sent the young whipper-snappers of Gidea Park home without anything to smile about. His second half hat-trick sealed a place in Woodhurst legend and confirmed Gidea Park's second to the consolation bin.

A good display from Woodhurst who also saw skipper Nick Bashford limp off in the second period, but the good news was that four new faces were on show, Arana, Richards and Jordon, as well as Alex Alexander who did not appear from the bench. The demons of last year's Cup semi-final defeat to the same opposition were well and truly exorcised
