Woodhurst 4 - Essex Minors 1
Independent Sunday League

Parmiters Sports Ground, Sunday 2nd February 03

A great show of football on a heavy Parmiters pitch, the first home game for three months, sealed the Hurst another three points in the run-in to this season's finale. Another week at home without a referee forced Bradbury to take the whistle for the first half and McShea the second, as Essex Minors took an early lead through their nippy striker.

Parmiters, the first game in three months However, the lead was not to last too long as a neat Houlton-Woodham move ended with the ginger winger slotting home for 1-1.

Woodhurst were now in control, and despite a disallowed goal for Essex Minors, the match was only ever to have one winner when Jimmy Woodham put the home side in front.

Bradbury entered the fray after the break and soon made it three. A square ball from Souleyman into the box was delicately lifted over the advancing 'keeper by the big number 9.

Woodham made the game safe minutes later for his second and Woodhurst's fourth and three points were in the bag.
